Kitchen Remodels

Most kitchen designs are typically planned around three or four work area layouts. Most commonly known are the L shape, the Corridor, the double L and the U shape. They are all based on the need to have the sink, stove and refrigerator within easy working distance of each other.

All though these are common design plan layouts, the certified designers, Sandra Tierney and Scott Peters at Cabinets by Design, have often seen that many kitchens have areas that are not practical or functional for the home owner.

Whether it is doors that do not open all the way, or cupboards that allow only partial access into the storage space due to nonfunctional planning- a kitchen remodel that is based on functional design allows full use of your kitchen with ease and comfort. A kitchen remodel is valuable not only for short term day to day use and with long term ROI for your home investment.

With all the new and exciting kitchen and bathroom upgrades available on the market such as energy efficient appliances, imported tile, efficient green light fixtures, and so on, it’s not surprising that people are itching to invest more into their homes. Currently the trend for upgrading and remodeling a home has been with a strong focus on efficiency and the use of “green” materials.

What once was viewed as impractical or expensive is now acceptable due to individual lifestyle changes being made by homeowners in order to be more efficient and cost effective. Below are two beautiful examples of Functional Kitchen Remodels Cabinets by Design has done.
