Maple is seen often in our kitchen designs.
Maple offers a smooth, closed grain pattern, generally off white in color with varying tones of light pink and yellow-
brown.
Maple contains a natural resin that causes the wood to turn amber as it ages. This will be more noticeable with light stain finishes and is accelerated by exposure to natural light.
Other natural occurring characteristics include small, light tan or dark mineral streaks that form when trees absorb minerals from the soil.
Since maple has a closed grain pattern, it does not accept stain as well as other woods, however, with a skilled artisan, your maple wood stained kitchen will be beautiful and inviting.
Since maple shows the least amount of grain of all the woods, it is used for painted finishes.
The look, feel and versatility of maple is seen below in our kitchen remodels.
