“Sandra & Scott,
We wanted to let you know how pleased we are with our new kitchen.
We were amazed at how quickly and efficiently your guys tore out the old kitchen and installed new lighting, cabinets, and walled in the corner of the old kitchen.
Sandra, you promised it would be done in a week, and they finished in four days!
More important than the installation of the cabinets and remodel of the kitchen was the design work. The advice and recommendations that Sandra gave us were invaluable, especially considering the lack of knowledge that we had. We wouldn’t have been able to pull together the cabinet style, granite, and paint without your help would have been impossible.
Sandra and Scott, we can’t thank you enough!

This Imperial Beach house desperately needed a new kitchen. This client loved to cook and was tired of getting his pots and pans from the garage because there wasn’t a single cabinet in the kitchen that could store them. Besides the lack of base storage, there was no room for a full size dishwasher or refrigerator. The refrigerator could not open fully because it was sitting next to a wall. The lighting was poor and the countertop microwave took up valuable space. The trash can sat in the middle of the kitchen and recyclables sat on the counter until a trip to the garage was made.
We began by removing the pony wall and replacing it with large pot and pan drawers, a trash/recycle cabinet and an accessible corner cabinet. A lazy susan replaced the other dead corner and the microwave was moved up off the countertop. A convenient swing out spice rack is Dane Cawthon’s favorite feature along with the tray dividers in the deep cabinet above the refrigerator
Tearingout the existing pantry and adding a wall to build in a new full size refrigerator now left room for a full size dishwasher and more counter space to the right of the sink. Although the new pantry is just a bit smaller than the original, it is much more accessible.
Using aslide-in range and decorative stainless steel hood allowed for a focal point to be created with tile. Replacing the dated fluorescent light box with canned lights and adding under cabinet lighting, gave the kitchen it’s much needed task lighting. Pendant lights add ambiance and play off the accent tiles in the backsplash.
We replaced the door into the garage and changed the swing for better access to the laundry area. The door was faux painted to compliment the cherry cabinetry. The new granite countertops added to the overall look and feel of the design. The design of cabinet pulls repeated the lines of the shutter doors.
The old vinyl floor was replaced with a solid wood floor that added texture. Glass doors add interest and break up the repetition of the shutters. The new wine cubby got the bottles off the floor and added a nice touch.
Dane & Mary Cawthon now enjoy cooking, entertaining in this beautiful masterpiece.
